1 shot at Dayton VA Center, suspect in custody

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police have arrested the man suspected of shooting at least one person at the Dayton VA Center.

The suspect was taken into custody by hospital security at Good Samaritan Hospital and is now in the custody of the Dayton Police Department.
When the shooting happened shortly after noon, medics responded and staged in the area at 4100 W. Third St. while buildings at the center were evacuated and others locked down.
The suspect has not been identified but sources told 2 NEWS he is from the Dayton area.
Police have not released the name and condition of the victim.
Police continue to secure VA campus buildings.
Police have scheduled a 2:00 News Conference where more information is expected to be released.
2 NEWS has a crews at the VA Center and at the Dayton Police Department and will have more information as it becomes available.
