NDAA Lawsuit Media Blackout (Video)

The way the government is spying on peace groups and the way targeted indivduals are harassed and intimidated, one can justifiably ask if these targets are
It applies to U.S. citizens, who -- under the ambiguous and expansive terms of that measure -- could be detained by the military, on U.S. soil, until what the measure calls the "end of hostilities," which in the open-ended war on terror could mean forever.
According to Obama administration spokesmen, the NDAA could be used to imprison war correspondents and other journalists who cover terrorism-related issues.
The NDAA has no parallel in American history.
"In fact, it is without precedent in the history of Anglo-Saxon law since the Magna Carta was signed in 1215. Perhaps the closest historical kindred to the NDAA would be Article 58 of the Soviet Criminal Code, which allowed for arrest and summary imprisonment of anyone suspected of working to undermine the Soviet state," reports Franchi.
Journalist and activist Tangerine Bolen is one of eight plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the NDAA. Although she voted for Obama, she describes herself as "terrified" by the arbitrary powers that the president and his advisers can now exercise in the name of fighting terrorism.
Watch Bolen in the video below.

There is a media blackout on the lawsuit journalist Tangerine Bolen and seven other plaintiffs against Barack Obama's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Why Are Massive Ice Boulders Forming Along Lake Michigan?

Was Mother Nature preparing for a monster snowball fight? Hundreds of massive balls, or boulders, of ice have appeared along Lake Michigan's coastline near Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. The unusual natural winter phenomenon has attracted the attention of people here and across the nation after photos taken by a local resident went viral across the Internet.

Experts believe that though it's a rare occurrence, there is a simple explanation for the giant ice boulders. Enormous sheets of ice form over Lake Michigan in winter. Chunks of the ice break off, growing layer by layer. As the growing chunks are tossed by waves they eventually form smooth, rounded balls which then wash up along the shores.

America Needs More Crime Control, Not More Gun Control.

John Stossel discusses why America needs more crime control, not more gun control. Felons in prison are interviewed in this video and share their feelings as well.

Cancer-Linked Contaminants in Bottled Water Says EWG

A report released by the Environmental Working Group this week provides yet another reason not to drink bottled water: disinfection byproducts, fertilizer residue and pain medication. All these chemicals and more were found in multiple brands of bottled water EWG tested. More on the report below the fold. The cost of bottled water is about 1,900 times greater than tap water, a price tag many people are comfortable paying because they believe they are drinking something "pure." EWG's comprehensive report counters this assumption, with data indicating chemical contaminants in every brand of bottled water EWG tested.
WalMart's and Giant's store brand of bottled water contained a cocktail of chlorine and fluoride found in municipal water, making these brands identical to municipal water with the exception of their price tags. In California these brands exceeded legal contaminant limits and were also found chemically potent in stores in North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland and DC.
Sam’s Choice samples EWG bought in the San Francisco contained disinfection byproducts which have been linked to cancer and reproductive problems. EWG announced it filed a suit to require Walmart post a warning sign on its bottles that the water contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, an act required under California law.
Other brands tested contained chemicals including fertilizer byproducts, chemical remnants of prescription meds, industrial chemicals, bacteria, arsenic, and even boron. The study also included assays for breast cancer cell proliferation, conducted at the University of Missouri. One bottled water brand spurred a 78% increase in the growth of the breast cancer cells compared to the control sample.
The bottled water industry, unlike municipal water sources, is not required to reveal the chemical components of its products. EWG hopes this report will educate consumers on the impurities of bottled water and the risks associated with drinking it. The group recommends consumers drink filtered tap water instead.
Head here to see more of the report, including recommendations on how you can start drinking safe water.More on Bottled Water:The Cost of Bottled WaterBottled Water Market StagnatesKick the Plastic Bottle Habit

Free Electricity Anyone???

German student creates electromagnetic harvester that gathers free electricity from thin air

Please Share This Amazing Story

A German student has built an electromagnetic harvester that recharges an AA battery by soaking up ambient, environmental radiation. These harvesters can gather free electricity from just about anything, including overhead power lines, coffee machines, refrigerators, or even the emissions from your WiFi router or smartphone.

This might sound a bit like hocus-pocus pseudoscience, but the underlying science is actually surprisingly sound. We are, after all, just talking about wireless power transfer — just like the smartphones that are starting to ship with wireless charging tech, and the accompanying charging pads.

Dennis Siegel, of the University of Arts Bremen, does away with the charging pad, but the underlying tech is fundamentally the same. We don’t have the exact details — either because he doesn’t know (he may have worked with an electrical engineer), or because he wants to patent the idea first — but his basic description of “coils and high frequency diodes” tallies with how wireless power transfer works.

In essence, every electrical device gives off electromagnetic radiation — and if that radiation passes across a coil of wire, an electrical current is produced. Siegel says he has produced two versions of the harvester: One for very low frequencies, such as the 50/60Hz signals from mains power — and another for megahertz (radio, GSM) and gigahertz (Bluetooth/WiFi) radiation.

The efficiency of wireless charging, however, strongly depends on the range and orientation of the transmitter, and how well the coil is tuned to the transmitter’s frequency. In Siegel’s case, “depending on the strength of the electromagnetic field,” his electromagnetic harvester can recharge one AA battery per day. He doesn’t specify, but presumably one-AA-per-day is when he’s sitting next to a huge power substation. It makes you wonder how long it would take to charge an AA battery via your coffee machine, or by leeching from your friend’s mobile phone call.

Police Warn All Black Men: "You Could Be Stopped and Questioned"

San Diego Police Sgt. Benjamin Kelso is warning all African-American men that they could be stopped and questioned as the manhunt for Christopher Dorner continues.

The longer the search drags on, the more the case is being used as a poster child for making the evisceration of constitutional rights look rational and reasonable.

“If you’re an African American man, you could be stopped and questioned,” Kelso told Fox 5 San Diego. “There are many people that may look like Chris Dorner, myself included. If you are stopped and questioned its important to cooperate with officers.”
Attorney Doug Oden warned that all "large, black men, who have bald heads" should be "concerned," adding that the $1 million dollar reward promised by the LAPD for information leading to Dorner's apprehension could hinder rather than help the manhunt.
“There may be people thinking, there’s a large black man, it could be him, I could get paid, so I think that $1 million reward could be counterproductive,” said Oden.
Some heavily built, bald black men in the Los Angeles area have even begun wearing shirts with messages proclaiming they are not Christopher Dorner (see image above). Signs have also been placed on vehicles which read, “Don’t shoot, I’m not Chris Dorner. Thank you.”
Last week, LAPD officers mistakenly opened fire on Emma Hernandez and her daughter, Margie Carranza, blazing their vehicle with bullet holes and prompting questions as to how two hispanic women could be mistaken for a black man. Carranza suffered minor injuries but Hernandez was shot in the back and remains in hospital.
The LAPD's answer was that Hernandez' blue Toyota Tacoma "resembled" the truck being driven by Dorner, despite the fact that it was a different color and obviously had a different license plate.
"The vehicle is a different color. The license plate doesn't match. There's nothing there for you to start shooting people. And even if they had the person in question... Mr. Dorner... you still have to give them an opportunity to get out. You can't just start administering street justice," said Attorney Glen Jonas.
"LAPD cops just flat-out OPENED FIRE on the vehicle without even identifying who was driving it! How did it "resemble" Dorner's truck? Well, it was a truck! That sucker had four wheels and a bed for hauling stuff!" writes Mike Adams.
LAPD officers also shot at David Perdue as he was surfing in another case of mistaken identity.
“I don’t want to use the word buffoonery but it really is unbridled police lawlessness,” said Perdue's attorney Robert Sheahen. “These people need training and they need restraint.”
Meanwhile, CNN host Erin Burnett asked if Chris Dorner should be targeted for state-sponsored assassination by a drone strike. The Obama administration is already killing Americans abroad via drone strikes with no due process, leading many to fear that it's only a matter of time before extra-judicial killings are carried out on U.S. soil.
