Malcolm X, The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, President Nelson Mandela, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Julian Bond; Kwame Ture, formerly known as “Stokely Carmichael”; Andrew Young; Kweisi Mfume, former member of Congress, and former leader of the N.A.A.C.P.; The Reverends Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Joseph Lowery; The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee called “SNCC”; The Black Panthers; The Universal Negro Improvement Association, which was Mr. Garvey’s movement; and, The Nation of Islam.
