LITTLE ROCK, ARK. — Authorities are evacuating at least 50 homes after a crude oil pipeline ruptured near Mayflower, spilling oil into Lake Conway.
Arkansas Department of Emergency Management spokesman Brandon Morris said an Exxon pipeline ruptured on Friday afternoon. He said authorities have since stopped the leak.
Morris said a small amount of oil was released into Lake Conway, but it wasn't clear exactly how much.
Morris said authorities are evacuating homes in a subdivision near where the pipeline ruptured.
A spokeswoman for ExxonMobil says she was looking into the incident.
