A&T's Swimming Team Photos capture Black Girl Magic, HBCU Sports-style
Sometimes, a team picture is more than just a team picture. At a time when many HBCUs have had to cut sports like swimming, these photos of the A&T shows the schools dedication to the sport.
These photos represent more than that, however. Six months after a black girl was dragged by her hair by a police officer at a swimming pool, to see this group of educated young women, standing confidently and assuredly staring back into Kevin L. Dorsey's camera is one that should inspire young women across the country to pursue their goals academically and athletically.
It's not all serious business, though. Dorsey also captures the essence of the team enjoying themselves and each other.
