The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement has recently gained growing popularity across the globe and forced the Israelis to invest millions of dollars in a counter propaganda campaign against the movement.The campaign has hit news headlines frequently over the past few months, with EU countries now endorsing the campaign to boycott all Israeli settlement products.
Jordan has also moved to ban all the illegal Israeli settlement products from supermarkets and stores.
Recently, a Hollywood actress was forced to choose between advertising a settlement product and her humanitarian work with Oxfam America.
Two of Europe’s biggest financial institutions have boycotted transactions with Israeli companies involved in the settlement construction.
The European Union has also blocked all grants and funding to any Israeli entity based in the illegal settlements.
The American Studies Association has also announced a decision to boycott Israeli institutions and academics over the discriminatory treatment of Palestinians.
Israel and its staunch ally the United States are frustrated in the face of the boycott campaign and trying to find a strategy to counter the boycotts.
US efforts against boycotters of Israel intensified as a bill was introduced in the US House of Representatives that would cut federal funding to American academic institutions that boycott Israel.
